Volkswagen unveils an impressive redesign of its Atlas lineup for the 2024 model year, featuring significant interior upgrades and introducing a new rugged Peak Edition trim line. All models, available in the Canadian market from Q3 of 2023, will be powered by a new 2.0-litre turbo powertrain that replaces the previous four-cylinder and VR6 options. This new powertrain promises improved performance and fuel economy, with the standard four-cylinder turbocharged engine offering 269 horsepower and 273 lb-ft of torque.
Starting at an MSRP of $49,995, the base model, the Atlas Comfortline, is robust with features. These include LED headlights with an Adaptive Front-lighting System (AFS), a 12-inch touchscreen infotainment display, wireless charging, and heated front seats with ventilation. An IQ.DRIVE suite with driver assistance features such as Front Assist, Lane Assist, and Adaptive Cruise Control is also standard across all trims.
The Peak Edition, the new addition to the Atlas lineup, brings a unique flair with exclusive interior and exterior design elements. Priced at an MSRP of $53,995, it boasts black alloy wheels with all-terrain tires, unique interior colour and décor, and signature exterior detailing. A panoramic sunroof is available as an option for this trim at $1,500.
The Atlas Highline, starting at an MSRP of $56,995, steps up the luxury with standard features including a Harman Kardon Premium Audio System, a Navigation system, and leather seat trim. Additional customization is available with a 20” black wheel package and 2nd row Captain’s Chairs, priced at $500 and $700 respectively.
Topping the lineup is the Atlas Execline R-Line, priced at an MSRP of $59,995. Beyond the standard features of the Highline, it incorporates the R-Line design package, a 360° camera system, and a Head-Up Display (HUD). Like the Highline, 2nd-row Captain’s Chairs are available as an option for this trim, priced at $700.
